Golan's Moving & Storage

Golan's Moving was a disaster! My wife and I needed to move from CA to MI and , we were considering who to go with. A rep from Golan's came down to give us an estimate, and he seemed friendly and accommodating and boasted about how they were honored from some stupid Angis award that made them the top movers in the nation (which doesn't mean squat, because they rig all the reviews online too)..well we decided to go with them. On moving day, 4 guys came to pack up our stuff and did a good job. 
 
It wasn't until they arrived to MI that things started to go south very quickly. They changed the price of the whole move several times and ended up paying an extra $1000!!
There were only two people unloading our stuff, and old man and a young guy. They were unloading boxes and didn't pay attention to which side was up and all the capped liquid solutions seeped onto the new kitchen floor and ruined our baby stuff. 
 
But the biggest upset was when they unloaded my wife's new piano from the truck. Just two guys hoisting it of the the truck and dropping it down. They didn't use a ramp or a dolly, and the hoisted over two concrete steps to the house, which ended up breaking off the two petals below and  there was split in the wood and paint furnishing. This was really upsetting to say the least, my wife came from Korea when we got married and shipped her piano from Korea without a scratch! FROM KOREA!! GOLAN'S CAN'T EVEN GET IT RIGHT FROM STATE TO STATE! THAT SAYS ALOT RIGHT ABOUT THEIR SERVICE!!
 
To top it off, my wife was pregnant and we didn't even get our box spring for our master bedroom mattress!! It didn't even get loaded up with our stuff, so we had to wait OVER TWO MONTHS, in the meanwhile we were sleeping on the sofa!
 
To avoid problems directly, Golan's sinister tactic is to direct complaint to a third party claims department which was another whole different hassle we had to go through. I think these guys are trained to be rude and mean to you so that you can't get any compensation for the damages. Honestly, they don't care about your stuff, they just care about getting your money and what happens after that, you gotta practically fight for compensation.
 
Looking back at this whole ordeal, we would've much rather moved on our own. No body in Golan's cares about your stuff. They are not running a business, they are running a racket, which at the end you pay for BIG TIME! My wife and  that I suggest no one should even consider them. Find someone else. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!

We moved from a 2 bedroom high-rise apartment to another high rise apartment. We are in our 70's and used Golan to pack for us as well as move us. We did a virtual tour of our apartment so I felt confident that they had a good idea of what we would need for packing. Another company had me guessing how many boxes etc I would need. The workers showed up on time, worked all day to get us packed and came back the next day for the move. They marked all boxes and placed boxes in the appropriate room at the new apartment on move day. Nothing was broken, all pieces were together. It was just a great experience. I highly recommend Golan.

Moved my father from a condo to a senior living community in the same town. Martin and his crew were fantastic. They arrived on time and were friendly and efficient. We had done all the packing of clothing and small items while Martin and his team focused on the furniture items. They wrapped each furniture piece and carefully took it to their truck. Upon arrival at the destination, they worked with staff at the senior community to move all items to my Dad's new place. The unwrapped and placed all furniture where we asked them to place it. It was stressful moving our 92 year old Dad but Golan's movers helped to make it easier.

I hired Golan's Moving & Storage to move my elderly parents into their retirement home, and the crew was so patient, kind, and respectful. They packed everything meticulously, taking extra care with my parents’ favorite recliners, family photo albums, and medical equipment. They took time to chat with my dad about his old record collection while packing it up. Moving is emotional, and Golan's Moving & Storage handled it with so much heart. I can’t recommend them enough!
